Label design

This is a label for a bottle of vanilla extract my sister is making for Xmas, It’s going to have a little booklet full of recipees as well. The bottle measures 6 inches circumference, and 3 inches tall.

Need crit badly.

  1. I like it a lot but I don’t know if I would go with the quilt theme. they don’t really go together, I think you can keep the boarder because that doesn’t necessarily say stitched to me but maybe lose the back ground texture

  2. Ooh, I LOVE throwback labels!!!

    The offset stripe is not working for me. Try centering it, then moving “The” up above “Prancing Pomeranian” to give yourself the vertical space needed to center everything out. I don’t always think that centering everything is the solution, but the outside shape of the label is too symmetrical not to do it in this case.

    Also, i recently learned that the space around the “A” in the Ribbon typeface is heavily padded by default (Thanks, Nadya!). Try adjusting the kerning of/in relation to the “A” in order to compensate for it.

  3. I really like it. I love the color scheme and the use of type. I agree with Casey though about the stripe. It looks like it needs to go up. I actually really DO like the quilt thing personally. Nice job:)
