“I love the process of making marks. There is a relationship of paint marks to the imagery. To have both working simultaneously expands the language of painting. A two-foldness occurs between the marks of paint and the image. My paintings change from abstraction to realism depending on the distance that they are viewed.”

Rob Adamson was born in Bountiful, Utah. He received his BFA with an emphasis in painting and drawing from the University of Utah in 1992. He received an MFA in painting and drawing at Brigham Young University in August of 2007.

Rob teaches at the Salt Lake Community College in the Visual Art and Design Department. He paints in his studio located near his home in East Millcreek where he lives with his wife, Sharyl, son, Zachary, daughter, Sarah, two dogs, Jack and Jack-Jack, and cat, Aurora.
