Beloved Community Photography Exhibit
George S. & Delores Doré Eccles Art Gallery
Salt Lake Community College
East Entrance / South City Campus
Now through March 2, 2016
Kudos to VAD Associate Professor Whitney King Hyans for her part in the current “Beloved Community” Photography Exhibit. Whitney shared her skills as a professional photographer and faculty member with Whittier Elementary 6th grade students. Whitney helped students in the art of taking photos while tying into the theme of Martin Luther King Jr.’s idea of community connections.
Please take a stroll through our “Beloved Community.” Hopefully we will be seeing some of these students at SLCC in the next 8 to 10 years!
From SACM:
“SLCC School of Arts, Communication & Media created the ‘Beloved Community Photography Project’ to provide access to photography equipment and instruction by SLCC faculty members to local students. This exhibit features photography by 6th grade students from Whittier Elementary School that showcases their cherished connections with their own communities.”
