Teako Warfield-Graham
From Alumnus Teako Warfield-Graham:
“In February 2017 I completed my software engineering intensive studies at Makers Academy— Europe’s #1 software engineering program accepting under 10% of candidates. For my software final presentation I led the build of an augmented reality app utilizing technology similar to Pokemon Go, but for art galleries.”
“The app enables art pieces we map to ‘come to life in 3D’ via your smartphone camera, viewable at all angles as if the objects exist right in front of you. Our MVP minimum viable product was complete in one week and the project in under two weeks. The app was complimented by the London Science Museum, who put me in touch with their New Media department. The founder of SMARTIFY app also complimented it and told me I’m in the right direction. I’d love to find ways the project could grow.”
“We were the only all women group, one of the smallest, with only 3 members! The project almost didn’t happen since I pitched too many ideas and no one understood it. I researched it more after having conversations and convinced a small group to join me.”
Teako is currently living in London with her husband and two sons.
Kudos Teako!
