ALUMNI FOCUS: Derek, Brighton, Vince, Melissa, Becky, Mel, Matt, Tanja & Melissa

Derek & Brighton Ballard

“Some detailed shots of a 2 color poster I designed for @ibasedbod ‘s upcoming short film. Showing at Brewvies this Friday. Brighton and I printed this on our in-house Risograph printer. @ Urban Lounge.”

“My incredible Oma turned 100 on March 8th. Brighton and I designed and hand printed handkerchiefs as a party favor for her celebration that weekend. The design is based on some of Oma’s favorite things: ladybugs, humming birds, Las Vegas, Spring, and 4711 perfume. I based some of the typography off the stunning 4711 bottle label I would always see Oma with. Also the fragrance is unmistakably connected to her- so we spritzed all the handkerchiefs with 4711 before giving them to guests at the party.”

“I really enjoy listening to shows while drawing. Tonight I’ve been catching up on Doctor Who – the Twelfth Doctor and Bill in Scotland! (That’s vague enough it’s not a spoiler… right?)”

Tanja Rapson

“The enamel pins I designed for Riley Blake Designs are coming soon! Who doesn’t want a seam ripper that says “too ligit to quit” or a roller blade that says “rollin’ with my homies” I also did the illustration for the backer card. I’m just so excited.”

Melissa Healy Turner

“Some posters I illustrated for a fly youth. Hope she makes it!” 🤞🏽

Finally finished the book cover (our last assignment ) for the Illustrating Children’s Books class I’ve been taking. I’ve learned so much from this class, can’t wait to apply this to my own books now 😊!
