“2022 has been a pretty big year for me. I finally got up the courage to sell my art at conventions, set a release date for my graphic novel, and even got some of my art in some storefronts! Here’s hoping 2023 is even better!

I’ll also have a dinosaur coloring book coming out sometime next year! I’ll keep you all posted on the details.”

Happy New Year everyone. You are all wildly capable. Let’s make 2023 a better year in every aspect of our lives.

What would your 23 words for 2023 look like?”

“Here’s another newly released stamp set I designed for @stampinupofficial called Kind & Sincere. The sentiments are meant to be paired together in a number of ways. I love combining a big script with a smaller sans serif that has a short x-height.”

“@stampinupofficial released the January–April 2023 Mini Catalog today! Here’s a background stamp I designed called Hand-drawn Dots. Somehow the Concept Artist knew to use my brand colors. 😉

“This piece is up for sale! An original oil painting this piece is a great large statement piece for an empty wall. Measures 3ft wide and 4ft tall. We built this custom canvas by hand. The sides of the canvas are painted so it does not have to be framed but would look great in one! The back of the canvas is papered, it comes with a hanging wire and it just received a coat of varnish.”

“Work in progress.”

“New Future Day Saints ashcan will debut at Sunstone Symposium next month. I’m currently working on volume 3 (The New Arrivals) and it will come out next year. This zine will be a sneak peek as to what’s to come.

Ashcan is a term from back in the day for a cheap, small, usually black and white comic they would print to establish a trademark for upcoming titles. In the 80s and 90s, they started releasing ashcan comics as prototypes and for promotional use. They became collectors items.

This will be the second Future Day Saints ashcan I will be releasing. The first was released last year as part of bundles with my second FDS volume. My ashcans contain sketches and process art. It’s basically a zine with background art from the book.”

“Happy Spring!🌸🐝

I have been thinking about the first day of spring today and what it represents. New growth, new beginnings, starting fresh and moving forward.

Flowers don’t automatically pop out of the ground. They have to go from their seeds/bulbs, struggle to push through layers and layers of dirt making sure they are getting the nutrients they need from the soil and moisture in the ground around them. Even when they reach the surface, there is still growing to be done before the flowers can bloom with their bright, vibrant colors.

If you feel you are in the midst of what seems to be endless, perpetual struggles in any or all areas of life, take courage. As this new season of the year begins, I hope you can remember that even flowers take time to bloom. There may be struggles to get there, but the end result is always worth it. So keep working. Keep going. Even if it is just one inch at a time. This season of struggle will pass and will lead you to some beautiful things in life.” ❤️🌷🌹🌺🌸🌼🌻

“Disconnect from the constantly moving, ever busy world around you to reconnect with who you really are.”

“It’s okay to take a step back when you are feeling overwhelmed with everything going on around you. We are constantly bombarded with podcasts, music, streaming services, social media, ads, games… We are not robots and need time to rest and recharge.”

“Closing off outside sources of constant noise and taking time to sit, be still and listen to the thoughts that move through my head has been a huge help in starting to reconnect with who I am. I still have a way to go but finding time to be still has been very beneficial. How do you disconnect from the world to reconnect with yourself?”

Matt Page

“Here is one of the projects I worked on at the real estate business I worked for. They were trying to get investors to invest in the two buildings marked in red. The POV is looking west onto downtown Salt Lake City. The story is that the four blocks east of State Street and south of 100 South are growing and what we think of as “hot downtown property” will soon include those four blocks.

So in order to help illustrate it, I wanted to show the skyline, with all the big existing buildings in the background and the blocks we’re focusing on in the foreground.

The top is what it looked like 5 years ago, the middle is what it looks like now (the green buildings are new) and the bottom is what it will look like in 5 years (the yellow buildings are planned).”

“Friends & family, It’s been a long time coming, but @drinkbutter recently launched its first solo collection and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. The ‘Butter Ball’, ‘Butter Dog’, ‘Dog with the Butter’, and ‘ButterTini’ Anorak jackets were created by yours truly and are available at drink-butter.com.

What started as a platform to post our films, edits, and IG cuts, quickly evolved into a place where skiers from all over the state, nation, and world have gradually come together over one shared interest — butter. Some of these skiers I’ve looked up to for years, some have just recently started to inspire me, and there will be plenty more down the line.

The whole point behind the butter is to spread love within the free-skiing community.

Specifically, to build up underdog skiers, crews, and brands that are beneficial for the culture, while also paying respect to those who paved the way for our sport. With the revenue from these designs, I plan to support other phenomenal people and projects within our community.

While it is always a great feeling to stomp a backflip, it’s even more special to encourage a friend to do their first. Here is to paying it forward and building up the next generation of skiers. 🍸

“I’m so excited to be one of the @bloemmarketgoods vendors this year. It’s located at one of my very favorite shops @sunrivergardens February 11-12. I’ve been working hard on lots of new products just for this market. I will also have some really cute @thefoggydog collars & bandanas that I designed.”

“The only good thing you can get out of this eternal winter is using this time wisely to get and heal a tattoo before the sun comes back and wants to burn it.Do the thing. Get the tattoo.”

“Boring tech news alert 🤓 I get to do a national collab with CivicPlus & GovTech.com all in the name of work tomorrow! As a design lover I’m not totally sure how I became a “go-to” in city technology but I slipped and fell and it just happened LOL. Feeling smart and proud.” https://webinars.govtech.com/

“I know Stevie gets a lot of love on here (rightly so), but most of my favorite Fleetwood Mac songs are by Christine McVie. So I’m showing her some love…” ☀️🌈✨☁️🌙

“Buff and Oz Handmade got the logo I made for them turned into a stamp! 🤩 It’s so beautiful, and this soap is so damn good! I started using bar soap a few years ago to reduce plastic waste. I’ve tried a lot of soaps at this point, and this brand is now my go-to hand soap vendor. (I have to use a dermatologist-rated bar soap in the shower.) Support local!”

“Each year is what you make it… I’ve tried to take that approach since the beginning of 2020 (before the world stopped and we were rocked by an earthquake). Here are my 22 words for 2022. Some are related to goals I want to accomplish, some are related to things I want to do and some are related to the person I want to become this year. Each year is what you make it, so let’s make it a good one. 👍🏼. . .What would your 22 words look like?”

Lindsay Hope

“After surviving a crazy rough first work week back from holidays I finally got to mess around with paint again. Note to anyone trying pour paint for the first time, gloves would have been a smart move BEFORE dumping blue paint every where.” 🙃

Sheri Morris

“Never in a jillion years did I ever think I would become a sewist and make a quilt! This for me is the silver lining of the pandemic and illness. I love everything about this most excellent pastime, and without being forced to stay home and sit still this would never be a thing. I wonder what other unexpected bits of beauty bloomed during these last few years of hardship?”

Matt Page

“My character Triple Combination from my Future Day Saints graphic novel series.” #futuredaysaints

“Lady of the Lake. Thinking this one would make a neat painting one day.”

Blake Peterson

“Ended the year with two big commissions! These mixed media / remixed vintage ski posters were tough to wrangle but FUN. And the clients were amazing to work with. Anddd the space they are in is so good… first thing you see when you walk in the door! AH. Win win (win) baby.”

“Side note: Growing up whenever I was injured (which was every other year from 8th grade on) I resorted to doing art and evidently that’s still a thing. It’s hard to get myself to sit down and just start on projects (unless I’m down a limb…) with any free time I prefer to be doing outside mountain things. So I need to figure out how to force my future uninjured self to be productive in this way. ” 🤔

“But for the next few months, expect to see a lot more art… created on the couch.”

“The beginning of a very exciting chapter. I couldn’t tell you how nervous I’ve been about this whole idea of leaving my 9 to 5 & pursuing my own studio. Then a friend asked me ‘are you actually going to wake up tomorrow morning & regret following your dreams?’

@pennalicia said it and here we begin – finishing up a dream I started with her!”

“Every shoot I do is so unique and different from the last. Whether I am taking photos for a couple experiencing new, young, eager love for the first time or a couple who has experienced many seasons of love together, each shoot I have the opportunity to capture something so unique to their love story. No matter the age or how many years a couple has been together, it’s so special to witness the electric moments of two people falling in love all over again.” 💕
