Amber Giles

“I meant to share this a while ago but I guess I never did! A few months ago I was able to create this movie poster for Rickey Jewkes’ musical short film Meanwhile in New York. It was submitted to the Utah Film Festival earlier this year. Such an honor to create poster for this film!”

“Always a joy to create something for Ballet Center Utah, Inc!”

Alissa Hicks

“I just have to share this awesome bag that I was so lucky to get to design for my company’s event. I love the pops of color and pattern. It was so fun to do because it’s the kind of design that appeals to me personally.”

Matt Page

“Here’s the digital painting and initial sketch for the Matt card. On the iPad is one of my favorite illustrations I made this year, which was inspired by the work of Modigliani. The artwork on these cards was all done on the iPad using the Procreate app. I added the “Happy Holidays” and nameplate afterwards using Adobe Illustrator.”
“Happy holidays y’all! I hope you all have a great (whatever you’re into this time of the year)!”

“Just another flowery pattern for a project I’ve been working on.” 🙃

Katrina & Hudson Flores

“Hudson and I currently have a few pieces of our work hanging at the Tooele Library with the Tooele County Arts Guild and many other great artists. I took first place for my oil painting “Ethereal” and Hudson took second place for his Beautiful digital painting “Tavern of Lore”. He also entered another digital painting of the legend of Zelda. We love our art community! Go check out the art at the library, it’s up till the end of October!”

Kylie Gillette

“We’re at DownEast in Millcreek this weekend!” 💖

Heleman Martinez

“Sharing this brochure design I did a little while ago for a client wanting to advertise the Construction Loan Department of RanLife Home Loans. I had the opportunity to do some custom icons too😁 Thanks James!”

“Yesterday, I desperately needed a leave behind for an interview the next day, so in 3 hours I made a couple dotted grid sketch books using bright neon poster board, my printer and a couple staples. I’m pretty happy with how my ‘bright idea’ turned out and they liked it too.”

Brett Mellor

“Sharing some more designs, this was a proposal for a studio fan look to match some of the new aesthetics of studio or set lighting for those with more flexible environments that don’t want a ceiling fan.”

Jennifer Terry

“Well hello there! Just wanted to show everyone something that I’ve been working on since January and I excited that it’s finally done! It’s my first time sculpting something so big out of polymer clay so there was definitely a learning curve. What do you think?”

“A new photo to the album: Arte.”

Lettering Practice for Today.

I added the crown in between the L and C to fill the space. I like the idea of a broken crown might have to incorporate it into an illustration.

“Charts and Graphs for work! And all I hear in my head is Kerry saying ‘more charts and graphs’ during Ad Workshop class.”

Jill De Haan

Lettering is such a beautiful way to express yourself. Exploring the depths of your style, creativity and voice is something I think every person can benefit from. I crack up when I see my work from a few years ago. There were times when I thought I’d just find a new hobby and others when I felt I’d really created something special and both experiences always pushed me to evolve and do better. I’m so grateful for the art of lettering and for the career that I’ve built from it. One of the unexpected benefits I’ve gotten from lettering is the wonderful community. Everyone is so positive and encouraging and I’m endlessly inspired by their beautiful work. It is for that reason that I would love to enter @homsweethom ‘s #letterwest scholarship challenge. I know there will be a ton of incredible entries but I figured I’d give it a shot! Here’s hoping I get to spend some quality time with my fellow lettering folk!” ❤️❤️

“Holy smokes, first mural done! And have a leg up on the next two thanks to help from my amaze sisters! Thanks @missyhealyturner and @libbykleyn 😇😇 for staying up late with me!”
