“There’s an online art challenge called the #toonmechallenge. I attempted it, but then realized that 1. I have no way of connecting the two images, 2. the measurements are probably off anyway, so it looks cooler on its own. XDDDDDD.
So here is a sloppy #selfportrait from an artist who is seriously rusty. Still, I like how the mouth and nose came out.

Dear friends, I’ve got news!

I’ve been quietly working on something new and exciting for the past 2 years.
It’s finally here! My ebook, The Estuary Veins, is out in the wild. It’s made for your phone (or other small devices).
You can purchase it on my site (https://buff.ly/2St2h8n) and get 25% off OR you can find it on Amazon.
I’m so happy this puppy is out. It certainly took a while to release but we made it and it’s very exciting.”
“I spent part of last year working with a group of incredibly talented and passionate people building an exciting new brand. Today, http://www.mantlmen.com is live and I couldn’t be more excited! Huge congrats to the MANTL team, Audrey Elise, and everyone else who helped bring this brand to life. Please go check them out, support them, and share with your friends.”

“This is my first completed design project at The City Library. Design objective: Brand the exterior of the passport office, including the door, so that patrons can locate it easily on the third floor and to give it a branded look.”

Lacee Siler Black

“The first collection I worked on at American Crafts on the Pink Paislee team was “Whimsical” by Paige Taylor Evans. I got to work on a font to use for the alphabet stickers, a specialty diecut paper, as well as other embellishments.”

Yea Keith & John Paul!

2016 AIGA Student Portfolio Review
Adobe Campus, Lehi, UT
Saturday, April 9, 2016

“The Annual AIGA Student Portfolio Review is designed to serve undergraduate students from Utah State University, Weber State, University of Utah, Salt Lake Community College, Utah Valley University, Brigham Young University and Southern Utah University.” ~ AIGA SLC

AIGA Salt Lake City’s 2016 Student Portfolio Review is always a great event for students to gain advice, insight and industry information from SLC professional designers as well as design and illustration faculty from Utah colleges.

SLCC VAD Associate Professor Kerry Gonzales and Adjunct Instructor Virag White, both in the Graphic Design program, joined their advanced students at this year’s event. Kerry and Virag were able to review students from other institutions. Both said they were very proud of the VAD Graphic Design and Illustration students who showed their portfolios and were reviewed by creative directors and faculty from other institutions.

Graphic Design students Anastasiya Bobrova, Todd Erickson, Missy Healy, Erin Salazar, and Illustration students Trevor Anthony Quong, Jennifer Mellen, and Ryan Winward were among those showing portfolios. Their student peers in the VAD Department cheered these students on.

Kolbie Carver, a former and now returning VAD student, and VAD Graphic Design Alumnus John Paul Brantly, now finishing his BFA at Utah State University, were also spotted showing portfolios.

Adobe, the Official Sponsor for Design Solutions, hosted this event at their Lehi campus.
