“My incredible Oma turned 100 on March 8th. Brighton and I designed and hand printed handkerchiefs as a party favor for her celebration that weekend. The design is based on some of Oma’s favorite things: ladybugs, humming birds, Las Vegas, Spring, and 4711 perfume. I based some of the typography off the stunning 4711 bottle label I would always see Oma with. Also the fragrance is unmistakably connected to her- so we spritzed all the handkerchiefs with 4711 before giving them to guests at the party.”

I had no idea Procreate recorded when you’re drawing in the app, thanks for the hot tip @jill_dehaan ! It’s fun to see what changed as the illustration progressed (like cookies turning into cupcakes then into a cake). Also, near the end, a stick figure then a sploosh of red are drawn and disappear. I feel like I didn’t draw that…. 👽?
