02.18.22 — The Gear Fund Collective Benefit Show.

“Definitely ready to play a show again. I’ve truly missed it. Tickets are on sale through @beehiveslc and all proceeds go to the Gear Fund Collective.

The Gear Fund Collective are doing critical work in the community. This show has been put together in effort to raise funds in support of the collective.

There are so many economical and systemic obstacles preventing marginalized individuals and communities from accessing the outdoors in ways so many of us rarely have to consider.

We have an opportunity to support and amplify those who are working hard to tear those obstacles down. So beyond packing the venue, let’s get creative and really make this count. I know a lot of my friends have connections to outdoor brands and businesses. We still have a little time to get additional donations and funding gathered for the collective. Let’s see what we can do!”

“Continuing progress on my Year of the Tiger drawing! I inked my sketch lines using brush pens. Then I sketched the stripes. Stay tuned for more progress!

Natalee Cooper Chilton

“One of my favorite memories of last summer was hiking with my dad, Nick and Kayto 24 miles in the Wind Rivers. Photos don’t do it justice so I wanted to create something to help me remember those memories.”

Cassidy Demkov

“I’ve had a bunny on my wishlist forever but since I am not Beatrix Potter and I don’t live in the English countryside I just have to draw them in there. Which is probably good because I’m sure they would think my little garden was just a beautiful buffet.”

Karli Duisen

“I’ve been making a lot of little stained-glass critters! And I started an Etsy shop to help fund this new hobby of mine 😜 so check it out if you’re interested in commissioning me for stained-glass pieces of your pets!” ✨🐶🐱

“I was nominated for The Knot/Wedding Wire’s 2022 Couple’s Choice Award, y’all!!! I am SO excited!!!

Thank you so much to all of my amazing couples who made this possible and for choosing and trusting in me to capture your special day!!! It was such an amazing year with moments that I will remember forever!”

Norah Strebel

“I did a thing! Had a wonderful opportunity to design a logo for this hilarious facebook group. If you’re into dog sports and haven’t joined yet……WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!! It’s a place to celebrate the beauty of the “FAIL” in dog sports, where we can all take a minute and just laugh at ourselves and embrace the crazy, messed up things we do for the love of our dogs.”

Jen Terry

“Meet Strawberry! She’s a cute little hamster who loves the smell of fresh wood chips in the morning and taking a couple of laps in the exercise wheel. I love Strawberry!” 🍓

“Humbled to have a few logos selected to be in @logolounge book 13. I’ll be sharing the selections over the next little bit. ⁣This selection was done just for fun and part of some brand elements for myself.”

“It’s been a year since I’ve worked on this project. No better time than now to get back into it.”

Melanie Bunch

“What do you do when the package you’re designing needs to print on a 34″ x 32″ sheet? You make a tiny scale model, just like you were told to in Package Design Class! And there I was, thinking I’d never use those mock-up skills! Kerry Gonzáles was right! Also, this tiny box is ADORABLE!!!!”

“I’m very proud of how my first official hand lettering project turned out, even if it’s for such a sad occasion. I wrote each word individually on another paper, then cut out my best ones and did a paste-up to get the right placement. Even adjusted the kerning in a few spots while I was at it.”

Natalee Cooper Chilton

‘”Joined the @hydrojug team this week and will be heading up all design for their newly acquired @acta.wear. It’s a lot to learn but I’m super excited for this opportunity and maybe this is my wake up call to drink water.🤣

A “quick’ practice sketch in ink. I’ve got to get ready for #inktober this year.” 😅

“Another practice sketch. Not sure what this one is, but it was fun to draw.” 😁

“I’ve been working on some page layouts with dialog for #EmyandHerald Here is a preview of the first page with #sketches It wasn’t until I started studying layout design that I realized just how much of an art form it is. Leading the reader’s eye from one panel to the next, and trying to follow all of the rules about lettering is challenging, but well worth it.” 😊

Melanie Bunch

“A sampling of the illustrations that I’ve been working on for the past few weeks. My company has developed a new product, and I have written and illustrated the user’s guide. Now that the first drafts are complete, I think I’ll go draw things that don’t have straps and buckles and pockets…”

The (mostly) finished User’s Guide with the illustrations I posted earlier. Management reviewed this document in a meeting yesterday, and it received rave reviews! I wrote the text as well – and the only changes they made were very minor grammatical changes (2 of the managers are former school teachers).Since we make the same pockets on some of our seat covers, they now want a modified version for that. So….now I’ll be drawing more pockets and straps again….hooray!”

“Home from a week at the lake with some family. Our first day was hot, smoky, and left a lot to be desired. We were just about ready to pack it in, but then a thunderstorm blew through our camp and left us with clean air and beautiful skies. 🙌🏻 Loved being in a natural setting, but loved the company even more.” 🌲🌤🏕

“Groceries. 🍊🥫🥜🫑🌶🍪🥛🍗🧅 They don’t change much from week to week. Do you find yourself eating basically the same things day in and day out? And not caring?? 😂 For me it’s homemade chicken fajitas, peanut butter toast, mandarin oranges, and various soups. Because soup is just so easy!”

“Smoke gets in your eyes. And nose. And throat. And lungs. 🔥 The west is on fire and the skies are thick with smoke and pollution. Gray skies are one thing, but gray skies with no chance of rain when we need it most? I’ll pass, thanks.”

TCAG is a non profit organization and I work with some amazing people to help support the arts here in Tooele County. All earnings will go directly to our Guild to help us to continue offering fun and engaging artistic opportunities to our community. Please sign up to participate in a super fun virtual event and to support a really great cause. You will have a blast!” 🎨🎨🎨

Dianna Totland

“Haven’t painted in a really long time. I’ve had this blank canvas for over 2 years because I have a fear of ruining a perfect blank board/page/any medium. Therefore I tend to never do anything. Sad really. I’ve already assumed I failed. What is wrong with me? I know I’m not alone in this. Anyways, I’m pretty happy with how she turned out. I know there was more I could do better for next time. I’m just happy I finally got around to painting this empty canvas I’ve held onto, and with something I am happy with. Thanks. P.S. if anyone wants to teach me how to oil paint, I think this style would look awesome in oil.”

Missy Van Wagoner

“The little lady, Amanda Gorman stole the show! She is goals! I loved her words (a long with Pres. Biden’s) and was memorized by her hands. I’m excited to follow and see what this lil lady does in her lifetime. Holy cow. Amazing!”

A couple patterns for a collection called Again & Again, released last fall by @americancrafts and @pinkpaislee. Probably the first floral I ever attempted that I didn’t want to immediately delete from my computer… I love – and hate – the challenge of trying new things and cultivating different skills. Since this pattern, I’ve become much more fond of creating florals! 🌹
