“Just like when I was a student, I always make 3D dummies of large print projects. This not only helps me visualize how the print will look in 3D space, but it also helps the client see what the final result will look like. I think clients sometimes have a hard time picturing the final result of a flat-looking illustrator file, so dummies are essential! Here are the dummies I made for the vending machine project.”

“New Future Day Saints ashcan will debut at Sunstone Symposium next month. I’m currently working on volume 3 (The New Arrivals) and it will come out next year. This zine will be a sneak peek as to what’s to come.
Ashcan is a term from back in the day for a cheap, small, usually black and white comic they would print to establish a trademark for upcoming titles. In the 80s and 90s, they started releasing ashcan comics as prototypes and for promotional use. They became collectors items.
This will be the second Future Day Saints ashcan I will be releasing. The first was released last year as part of bundles with my second FDS volume. My ashcans contain sketches and process art. It’s basically a zine with background art from the book.”

Derek Ballard
Clark Stewart Radlander’s wonderful Showerhead Cheatsheet poem and performance inspired Brighton Carper Ballard and I to make it into zine format. It is a 24 page coil bound, 2 color risograph printed zine. I can’t wait for you all to read it and see Brighton’s fantastic illustrations.
The release show will be at our Riso Geist studio downtown and feature 2 readings by clark! himself. One at 7PM and the other at 9PM. Both will have different opening acts.
Zines will be available for purchase at the event. Any unsold zines will then be available at Gridzine Fest the following weekend. These are very limited, so snag one while you can.”
“Hello, I have worked with an incredible team of people to create LEER, a recorded table reading of the feature-length screenplay I wrote last year. Derek Ballard did some killer production design, Scott Wasilewski elevated everything to beyond next level with music and background foley, and Wesley Walter Johnson engineered, mixed, and mastered it.
This is something I’m extremely proud of, and even happier to share with the world now that it’s complete. Please give LEER a listen, and share it around if you like it, so I can get Seth Rogen to be in it!”

“The Ace of Cups. This card shows a chalice overflowing with five streams of water that represent your emotions and intuition flowing from you. This card may show up at the beginning of a new relationship whether it be romantic or a friend or family connection.”
“Katrina here. I started a new painting last night, second in my Ukrainian series (pictures of the first coming later). Here is what my sketch looked like before I started toning my canvas. My heart has been heavy for the Ukrainian people as they have been driven from their homes in the wake of the destruction of war. People have lost their lives and left mourning loved ones behind. As an artists when you feel helpless and can’t do anything else, you make art. This painting will depict hungry Ukrainian refugees reaching for bread that is being distributed. I am working from a photo that was in the New York Times newspaper, it’s an image that has touched my heart. I will be selling prints and possibly even the original painting later this month at @galleryon28 at their fundraiser for Ukraine. All profits will be donated to a Ukrainian relief organization. I will post more information on the event soon. ” #galleryon28 #ukraine #ukrainefundraiser #war #ukrainianwar #refugees #painting #oilpainting #paintingforacause #sarrowful #artistsoninstagram

“Flowers don’t automatically pop out of the ground. They have to go from their seeds/bulbs, struggle to push through layers and layers of dirt making sure they are getting the nutrients they need from the soil and moisture in the ground around them. Even when they reach the surface, there is still growing to be done before the flowers can bloom with their bright, vibrant colors.“
“If you feel you are in the midst of what seems to be endless, perpetual struggles in any or all areas of life, take courage. As this new season of the year begins, I hope you can remember that even flowers take time to bloom. There may be struggles to get there, but the end result is always worth it. So keep working. Keep going. Even if it is just one inch at a time. This season of struggle will pass and will lead you to some beautiful things in life.”
“Disconnect from the constantly moving, ever busy world around you to reconnect with who you really are.”
“It’s okay to take a step back when you are feeling overwhelmed with everything going on around you. We are constantly bombarded with podcasts, music, streaming services, social media, ads, games… We are not robots and need time to rest and recharge.”
“Closing off outside sources of constant noise and taking time to sit, be still and listen to the thoughts that move through my head has been a huge help in starting to reconnect with who I am. I still have a way to go but finding time to be still has been very beneficial. How do you disconnect from the world to reconnect with yourself?”
Matt Page
“Here is one of the projects I worked on at the real estate business I worked for. They were trying to get investors to invest in the two buildings marked in red. The POV is looking west onto downtown Salt Lake City. The story is that the four blocks east of State Street and south of 100 South are growing and what we think of as “hot downtown property” will soon include those four blocks.
So in order to help illustrate it, I wanted to show the skyline, with all the big existing buildings in the background and the blocks we’re focusing on in the foreground.
The top is what it looked like 5 years ago, the middle is what it looks like now (the green buildings are new) and the bottom is what it will look like in 5 years (the yellow buildings are planned).”

“Friends & family, It’s been a long time coming, but @drinkbutter recently launched its first solo collection and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. The ‘Butter Ball’, ‘Butter Dog’, ‘Dog with the Butter’, and ‘ButterTini’ Anorak jackets were created by yours truly and are available atdrink-butter.com.
What started as a platform to post our films, edits, and IG cuts, quickly evolved into a place where skiers from all over the state, nation, and world have gradually come together over one shared interest — butter. Some of these skiers I’ve looked up to for years, some have just recently started to inspire me, and there will be plenty more down the line.
The whole point behind the butter is to spread love within the free-skiing community.
Specifically, to build up underdog skiers, crews, and brands that are beneficial for the culture, while also paying respect to those who paved the way for our sport. With the revenue from these designs, I plan to support other phenomenal people and projects within our community.
While it is always a great feeling to stomp a backflip, it’s even more special to encourage a friend to do their first. Here is to paying it forward and building up the next generation of skiers.
