Carol designs award winning magazine!

VAD Graphic Design Alumnus and SLCC Institutional Marketing Graphic Designer, Carol Ross has designed the bi-annual SLCC Magazine for the past 3 1/2 years. She recently found out that the last edition, Spring 2016, won the District 6 Silver Medallion award from the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations!

The Medallion Award recognizes outstanding achievement in design and communication at community and technical colleges. It’s the only regional competition of its kind that honors excellence exclusively among marketing and PR professionals at two-year colleges.

ENTER THE ART SHOWCASE!

2016 SLCC Student Art Showcase

Online Submissions: February 22 – March 9
Show Dates: April 1 – 13 / Monday – Friday Noon to 6 PM
Location:Center for Arts & Media / SLCC South City Campus

Each year the Visual Art & Design Department hosts an art show for Salt Lake Community College students. Missy Healy, VAD Graphic Design student, designed this year’s poster. Her artwork can be seen on posters, banners and digital screens throughout the SLCC campuses.

VAD encourages all SLCC students to enter in the following categories:
• Fine Art: studio drawing, painting, various traditional and digital media
• Illustration: traditional and digital
• Photography: traditional and digital
• Design: print, screen printing, package design, type and calligraphy
• Mixed Media: includes artwork made with several different mediums combining the various categories
• Multimedia: web design and video
• Animation: 2D and 3D video
• 3D Design: jewelry, sculpture, pottery, ceramics and metalwork
