“If you’re at PAXWest today, I will be on a panel at 7:30pm in the Sandworm theater! We’re making a little video game live in front of an audience! Kieran Lampert and are are gonna do our best as the art team >:)

There’s a definite loud sound warning, it’s a Doodle Jump clone. I did the background, the buttons, the platforms, and a logo. We sourced ideas and sfx from the audience!”

“Here’s a picture of us at the end! We had me and Kieran on art, a sound/music guy, a programmer and two hosts / hype guys.”

Cassidy Demkov

“Poppies inspired by my trip to Provence a few years ago. I’ve always heard of how amazing the lavender fields in Provence are but the poppy fields were an unexpected surprise. I always do little sketches to remember my trips by and I really love it when I can incorporate them into my work.”

“It’s been a while since I’ve shared my art on here. I’m still drawing a lot, in fact I have something really cool cooking up I’m excited to share soon. But for the meantime. Here’s a couple recent favorites from each of my art pages: @swoodydraw and @idrawrandomfollowers

Derek Ballard

Clark Stewart Radlander’s wonderful Showerhead Cheatsheet poem and performance inspired Brighton Carper Ballard and I to make it into zine format. It is a 24 page coil bound, 2 color risograph printed zine. I can’t wait for you all to read it and see Brighton’s fantastic illustrations.

The release show will be at our Riso Geist studio downtown and feature 2 readings by clark! himself. One at 7PM and the other at 9PM. Both will have different opening acts.

Zines will be available for purchase at the event. Any unsold zines will then be available at Gridzine Fest the following weekend. These are very limited, so snag one while you can.”

Brighton Carper Ballard

https://brightoncarperballard.com/LEER/

“Hello, I have worked with an incredible team of people to create LEER, a recorded table reading of the feature-length screenplay I wrote last year. Derek Ballard did some killer production design, Scott Wasilewski elevated everything to beyond next level with music and background foley, and Wesley Walter Johnson engineered, mixed, and mastered it.

This is something I’m extremely proud of, and even happier to share with the world now that it’s complete. Please give LEER a listen, and share it around if you like it, so I can get Seth Rogen to be in it!” 🙏

Melanie Bunch

“I made a hand-lettered sign for a friend’s Instagram photoshoot today! I’m very happy with the improvements I’ve made to my brush calligraphy.”

Matt Page

“Here’s a little something I’ve been working on to debut at Sunstone this summer… a new Ashcan comic zine thing with process art, concept designs, and a four page preview of the next book. This will have to hold everyone over until the book comes out next year.

There will be other new and exciting FDS products at Sunstone too but I still have about three months* to get those ready.

*Assuming they do it at the end of July like they usually do.”

“Drawing I did last night as part of an inside joke with my coworkers.”

“I drew our family this morning at church.”

Katrina Parkinson

“The Star. Tarot painting of the day. It brings renewed hope and faith and a sense that you are truly blessed by the universe at this time.”

“The Ace of Cups. This card shows a chalice overflowing with five streams of water that represent your emotions and intuition flowing from you. This card may show up at the beginning of a new relationship whether it be romantic or a friend or family connection.”

“Katrina here. I started a new painting last night, second in my Ukrainian series (pictures of the first coming later). Here is what my sketch looked like before I started toning my canvas. My heart has been heavy for the Ukrainian people as they have been driven from their homes in the wake of the destruction of war. People have lost their lives and left mourning loved ones behind. As an artists when you feel helpless and can’t do anything else, you make art. This painting will depict hungry Ukrainian refugees reaching for bread that is being distributed. I am working from a photo that was in the New York Times newspaper, it’s an image that has touched my heart. I will be selling prints and possibly even the original painting later this month at @galleryon28 at their fundraiser for Ukraine. All profits will be donated to a Ukrainian relief organization. I will post more information on the event soon. ” #galleryon28 #ukraine #ukrainefundraiser #war #ukrainianwar #refugees #painting #oilpainting #paintingforacause #sarrowful #artistsoninstagram

Stephanie Smith

“I still remember as I was planning my wedding (10 years ago!) how painful it was to spend so much money on the little things, that are inevitably going to be thrown in the garbage anyway (napkins, stationary, envelopes, flowers, etc.)” 😭

“Every time I create and shoot a flat lay or detail on my couples’ wedding day, I take this into consideration. I strive to capture every intention meant…and every penny spent! (am I right?)”

“If you too are worried about how you are going to preserve these moments and memories, I’ve got this! I dream of these details!” 😍

02.18.22 — The Gear Fund Collective Benefit Show.

“Definitely ready to play a show again. I’ve truly missed it. Tickets are on sale through @beehiveslc and all proceeds go to the Gear Fund Collective.

The Gear Fund Collective are doing critical work in the community. This show has been put together in effort to raise funds in support of the collective.

There are so many economical and systemic obstacles preventing marginalized individuals and communities from accessing the outdoors in ways so many of us rarely have to consider.

We have an opportunity to support and amplify those who are working hard to tear those obstacles down. So beyond packing the venue, let’s get creative and really make this count. I know a lot of my friends have connections to outdoor brands and businesses. We still have a little time to get additional donations and funding gathered for the collective. Let’s see what we can do!”

“Continuing progress on my Year of the Tiger drawing! I inked my sketch lines using brush pens. Then I sketched the stripes. Stay tuned for more progress!

“One of my favorite memories of last summer was hiking with my dad, Nick and Kayto 24 miles in the Wind Rivers. Photos don’t do it justice so I wanted to create something to help me remember those memories.”

“I just completed the first draft of the cover design for this year’s Product Guide (catalog) for my company. My new design is on the right, compared to their previous design on the left. I feel like mine is an improvement.”

Here is an example of the inside of the Product Guide I am creating at my job. The top one is their previous design, the bottom one is my update. The empty swatches on my version are due to new fabrics that haven’t arrived yet to be photographed.

So far, they seem to be pretty happy with the new design!”

“Just finished the shirt design for this year’s Burning Phoenix TKD Camp! Which will be much less “in tents” than usual….

I’m super happy about the design of this shirt, it is one of the prettiest shirts I’ve ever made. Like all of our Summer Camp shirts, it glows in the dark – see below for how it looks in daylight, and in the dark!
